Why "Minerva"?

How come the name 'Minerva'?

Minerva's by the Sea is named for a beloved matriarch of FourLaps, LLC -- the family business that owns and operates Minerva's. We chose this name also because there is historical symbolism:

Minerva was a mythical ancient Roman goddess. Because her specialties include wisdom and trade, she is often used as a ship's masthead. But Minerva — grand-daughter of Oceanus, born of the sea, daughter of the powerful Jupiter — was also the goddess of medicine and healing, and of crafts, poetry, and music.

Thus Minerva has the perfect credentials to be the muse of a fishing-village bed and breakfast!
