About Us & Our Inn..
from Luna Vista B&B Inn
The owners of Luna Vista were destined to provide an environment where new and old friends could explore their individual pathways to peace of mind, relaxation of body and enlightenment of spirit. Privately or with others, they created a place for others to get away from it all and celebrate life, while indulging in luxury pampering in their comfortable home.
The rewards for both guests and host:
Experience a healthy environment with the exchange of knowledge and engagement in conversations of legends & prophesies, life & origin, philosophy & humanity, heaven & earth, politics & science, consciousness & perceptions, abundance & prosperity, survival & endurance, love & family. Feeling the rich significance of sharing memories with another while adding to your own life's experience. And reaping the joy of sharing with new found family, friends and community – ALL Priceless!
Xenia, is the Greek concept of hospitality, or generosity and courtesy shown to those who are far from home. It is often translated as "guest-friendship" or "ritualized friendship" because the rituals of hospitality created and expressed a reciprocal relationship between guest and host.
The Greek god Zeus was sometimes referred to as Zeus Xenios, meaning he was god of, among other things, travelers. This created a particular religious obligation to be hospitable to travelers, but guests also had responsibilities, beyond reciprocating hospitality.
The policy of xenia also includes the protection and healing of traveling bards and guiding them to their next destination.
And so goes the basis of hospitality throughout time, practiced throughout many cultures and on many lands for generations upon generations.
While the term xenia is primarily ancient Greek, even today the Greek people are noted for their hospitality. Today's hospitality conjures images of throwing good parties, gracious hosts entertaining, etiquette, Martha Stewart or even talk shows, or, the hospitality services industry as it relates to the entertainment and tourism business. On the other hand, hospitality used to be, and still is, a serious duty, responsibility, and ethic.
Luna Vista is honored and grateful to carry on the practices of hospitality in these eventful times on the ancient lands along Beaver Creek.
