We, the Innkeepers, Fred and Suzy, met while students at the University of Denver in the early 70's. After we married we lived in southwestern Colorado where Suzy had grown up on a working cattle/guest ranch which her great grandparents had homesteaded in 1886. After a couple of years the call of the northeast where Fred had grown up was so strong for him that we felt compelled to seek employment in this area and he was given a job managing a large inn in Waitsfield.
After a year in that capacity we were afforded the opportunity to purchase Mountain View Inn. That was in 1978, and the rest, as they say, is history. We started with four rooms and two hall baths and gradually over the years have added on—bay windows, a new dining room, three more bedrooms and all private baths.
