My husband and I were born in Florence the city where we spent most of our life and with which we have developed a very strong bond.
When we reached the end of our work commitments, we wondered whether it was not finally time to realize our dream …..live in the countryside.
In 2000 we came to Polcanto a small village near Florence and the property of Porcigliano
seemed to be the right place we were looking for. A quite location with an interesting history and surrounded by an astonishing landscape at only 20’ driving from Florence.
Despite the house and the fields around were abandoned since a long time we decided to buy the property. Our adventure started.
Our first goal was to restore the house including eco-building principles with the purpose to offer an eco-friendly environment assuring at the same time a better quality of life and respect for the territory.
While the work proceeded I started thinking of furbishing and decorating the room and new spaces we were creating in the house. Decorating and furbishing have always been my passion and that is the reason why I have been always collecting old family furniture and different objects from antique markets. Then we started with the B&B in 2006.
Since then we have been running the activity with passion and dedication. My husband Ferdinando is responsible for the fields, the organic kitchen garden and olive and fruit trees while I take care of the house.
We like sharing with people coming from everywhere our life made of simple and genuine things and offering the pleasure of being together for a nice conversation sipping a good glass of Tuscan wine.
