from Maury Place at Monument Inn
Mac Pence and Jeff Wells have lived on Monument
Avenue in Richmond’s Museum District for over ten
years. Mac is a lifetime resident of Richmond and
is the president of the Pence Auto Mall . Jeff has
lived in Richmond for twenty-five years and was an
attorney before becoming a full-time innkeeper.
Jeff and Mac spent the two years prior to opening
Maury Place laying the groundwork for a great bed
& breakfast-- renovating the property, attending
seminars and conferences, and consulting the B&B
experts. We hope you love the results. Our
historic Virginia inn, is the perfect place for
you to spend your Richmond vacation, celebrate a
special occasion, or enjoy a weekend getaway. We
look forward to welcoming you to our home at Maury
Place!
Our Inn Dogs Chico and Lucy offer warm hospitality
to Maury Place guests-- they are always delighted
to meet new friends, and guests have enjoyed
having them around. (Please let us know if you not
comfortable with dogs, and we will make sure they
are not a bother. The dogs are never in guest
rooms or at breakfast).
Both of our dogs were adopted from animal rescue
organizations. Lucy, our beagle mix, came to us
from the Richmond Animal League. She is
approximately 11 years old, and has a sweet and
calm nature.
Chico came to us from the Rockbridge County SPCA;
Jeff found his picture online. He is a terrier
mix, and is approximately two years old. Chico is
a very happy and playful dog. We would all
benefit by living our lives like Chico!
