Meet Your Hosts
from Art and Orchids Inn
Your hosts Markie & Jerry live here with their two dogs, two cats, and around 20 chickens. No pets are allowed in the guest areas (except the gazebo, where Buddy the cat hangs out).
Before we moved here from California, Markie was a train conductor, and Jerry worked as an electrician. Jerry is now an electrical contractor and Markie enjoys making art which is sold at the B & B.
Both of us are avid gardeners and enjoy taking care of our three-acre yard. Markie is a master gardener, which is a continual learning experience. Jerry takes care of the greenhouse, where he grows vegetables in soil as well as aquaponically. He also grows orchids which are brought into the B & B when they bloom.
Markie lived in Germany for several years and enjoys speaking German with guests.
Jerry grew up in Los Angeles, Markie in South Dakota. We have lived in Portland, Oregon and New York as well as the Bay Area of California.
