Having worked in the hotel industry for more than 25 years, Joe was well qualified in lodging as a career. When we could get time off, we rarely took vacations that included a stay in traditional hotel. We just wanted to get away from the routine of his work. One year we opted for a bed and breakfast on the Mississippi Gulf coast not far from our home. It was a charming eight room Victorian B&B on the ocean. Just lovely. We were lying in bed on the second morning of our mini vacation and a light bulb went off, "we can do this". "Let's consider it for retirement." Little did we know, that in just two years, Joe's company would offer an early retirement plan. So we decided to leave his career and buy a property in New Orleans where we lived. In a blink of an eye(or so it seemed)we were in our 11,000 sq ft. Victorian mansion. The rest is history. We are celebrating a decade in our B&B in 2011.
