Visiting Bed & Breakfasts with our future partners
was always one of our favorite things to do. One
evening at an Inn, we realized, "We could do
this!" That day started our journey.

Finding the perfect property was crucial. After
finding a property in a neighboring town, we
called to put in an offer. The property had sold
that afternoon. We decided it wasn't supposed to
be and pushed onward. Driving down a street
traveled at least a million times in my lifetime,
a sign stood saying "Historical Home for Sale". I
spoke with the owner for over an hour and was told
we could see the house in a month. "A Month?", a
bit frightening and made me concerned about the
condition of the home. A month passed and we were
able to finally see the property. My husband,
being a contractor, walked through the house and
renovated the entire home in his mind before we
left.

We began our business plan working day and night
while working our full time jobs. Realizing one
of our weaknesses was marketing, while at dinner
with some friends (a marketing guru), we let them
in our "little secret" and the next morning we had
a letter from them requesting to become the third
partner. The homeowners waited patiently for a
year for us to get our financing in place. After
closing in December 1994, we began the renovations
and decorating (by ourselves) - a true labor of
love. August 1995 we opened to a full house and
were so grateful that the renovations were behind
us and then the joy of the business began. Over
the last 15 years, we have met some of the
greatest people from across the globe and across
the street! Innkeeping truly is the love of
people and knowing that no day will ever be the
same as any other. Our guests have enabled us to
travel to the 4 corners of the world and have a
friend that we can call! Arbor Hill Inn has truly
been a dream come true.
