Why I opened my B&B
from North Fork B&B Inn
Why I started my B&B.
After many varied traveling experiences I longed to go somewhere that was comfortable and inviting with a coffee maker, a fridge and free wi-fi. Thus began my quest to provide this place.
It was clear to me that my B&B would be a place a woman traveling alone or taking a child to an audition or college interview, would feel safe and comfortable as if visiting family. The bed would be very comfortable and the room nicely decorated. The towels would be thick, soft and fluffy. Guests would share all that makes North Fork special; the night sky, the quiet, the gardens, cross county skiing, snow shoeing, the Amish passing by, viewing wildlife, bird watching, seeing the humming birds up close while eating breakfast. My guests would absolutely LOVE their breakfast, served at their convenience. The coffee or tea would be wonderful. Guests would wonder if they had been there before. Directions would be happily provided upon request. Guests would sleep peacefully. A hot shower or a long soak in a huge tub would make the separation from their child feel like it didn’t hurt so much. They would feel they had a place to go and stay if they missed their child, and had to see them before the next scheduled break. AND if they had a pet they could bring it with them!!! If they had a special diet or allergies, that too wouldn’t be a problem. Anyone traveling or staying alone would feel like part of the family. Our Gift Shop has locally made items for guests to purchase and classes where guests can learn how to make bread, soy candles, MP soap or a balsam wreath to take home for the holiday season.
