Innkeeper's Story
presenting
Meet the Innkeepers
from Mill Street Inn

Your hosts are both native Marylanders. Both of us are retired educators, and more recently, retired organic growers and bakers for two farmers’ markets. Growing up and as a young adult, Skip spent summers on the western shore of the Bay at the family summer cottage, where he learned to sail, crab, and enjoy all the good things the Chesapeake has to offer. As a youth, many day trips to the Bay gave Jen a proper appreciation for Bay culture, and when Skip’s folks moved to neighboring Talbot County in 1960, we both became frequent visitors to the Eastern Shore and its environs.
Although we will always be labeled “come here’s” by the “from here’s”, our many years of firsthand experience in and knowledge of the area made it a comfortable and familiar place for us to settle and escape the concrete jungle that was rapidly engulfing us. We delight in new surprises daily, it seems, and we are eager to share our experiences, both old and new, with you.
