| Innkeepers! Do you love the business, but want to get to know your grandchildren or desire more independent lives? Is it time for a sabbatical? Are you considering selling, but need to improve your numbers? Perhaps you are looking to purchase an inn, but can’t manage it yourself. Innsitters! Do you love your career, but desire an option to living out of a suitcase? Are you looking for an additional challenge? Do you long to run an inn, but don’t want a mortgage? Have either of you considered the possibility of long-term management? What is long-term management? Typically long-term management means hiring a manager or management team to assume the responsibility of running an inn for a defined period of time. However, the definition and possibilities of long-term management are endless and encompass every aspect of the bed and breakfast industry. Examples of long-term management agreement: an interim management staff on duty three or four days each week or weekend, or an interim management staff to work your busy or slow season. Several long-term management staffs operate inns for corporate clients and inns that are between owners. Also, there are interim management businesses that specialize in cost and occupancy improvement, and interim managers looking for positions with the possibility of a purchase agreement.
