As in the past, The Lafayette offers the best of Virginia; a nineteenth century setting with fine foods, comfort and hospitality. We will have your gas fireplace blazing and lights set romantically.

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Lafayette is designed in Federalist style with three levels and sweeping colonnaded porches. The frame is of hand-hewn mortise and tenon beams with fifteen-inch-thick walls of local red brick. Large windows look out to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Piedmont countryside.

Every room is furnished with antiques; most have their own fireplaces, and some with two! Upgraded linens, oversized towels, and locally produced soaps and shampoos are found in each room. Some rooms have cable television, wireless internet, while others intentionally remain void of them. Either way, relax and prepare yourselves for a quality, memorable experience.

The Coffee House is open Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am-10:00am. A full country breakfast is served daily for Inn guests from 8:30am - 10:00am. On Sunday mornings join us for our Sunday Brunch from 11:30-2:30pm. Full breakfast (Mon-Sat) and Brunch (Sunday) is included for Inn Guests.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Located in the heart of downtown Stanardsville, Virginia, just ten minutes from the Shenandoah National Park and a half-hour from the University of Virginia and other historic and interesting sites in the Charlottesville, Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont, Virginia area. Also enjoy wineries, theater, pottery shops and Masanutten Ski Resort.

Stanardsville has beautiful country roads surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers. While visiting enjoy a walking tour of Stanardsville, the Historical Society Museum, Green Hills Club with golf, tennis, and swimming, Middle, South and Rapidan Rivers, hiking trails to and from Shenandoah National Park, numerous antique and collectibles shops, Greene County Courthouse and other historic buildings, Thomas Jefferson Regional Library and Blue Ridge Pottery.

Diceys Cottage: Two story free standing building. Antique furniture and hardwood floors, gas fireplaces (one in the bedroom) and a king size bed are among the touches that make this room so warm. Private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and shower. Kitchenette.

Tyler Suite- Hardwood floors and antiques fill this two room suite. The bedroom has two queen beds and a gas fireplace. The parlor has a family heirloom dining table and hutch, nice sitting area and cable TV. Gas fireplace in the parlor as well.
