Blending East and West is a theme running throughout the inn, where European and American furniture mix with Asian motifs to provide guests with romance and relaxation.

Western conveniences like plush terrycloth robes, cable TV, and reading lights offer modern comforts while the serenity of ancient Asian art is reflected by the peaceful setting along the river.

Experience the world of a private country estate. We have ten luxuriously appointed bedrooms and suites. We pamper you with plush linens on mahogany beds, overstuffed sofas and chairs, and inventive gourmet food. Our 15 acres of gardens, meadows, and fragrant pine forest offer peace and privacy.

Our name comes from our location on the pristine Chocorua River that meanders through the property. We even have an island to which you can escape with a book or picnic lunch.

Enjoy a leisurely multi-course breakfast in our light-filled dining room or under an umbrella outside on the riverside deck. In the afternoon, enjoy complimentary drinks around the fire or overlooking the river.

Beautiful, pristine Lake Chocorua and Bearcamp River are nearby and perfect spots for kayaking and canoeing.

Most Popular Rooms:

Room 4: Painted rich forest green, it is accented with art from India, antiques, Oriental rug and a huge mahogany mansion bed. A private deck with table and chairs overlooks the river.

Room 10: Decorated in burgundy tones and furnished with antiques, it is our largest room. It has a velvet window seat overlooking the river, large bathroom, 36" television, and sitting area with electric fireplace.
