![]() Magnolia House Inn was built as his private residence in 1868 by William Pole, the builder of the beautiful Lee Chapel on the Washington and Lee University campus. An example of the Shenandoah Victorian style, the house boasts high ceilings, tall windows, many fireplaces, and several porches. Guests may enjoy the parlor, the dining room, the Hospitality Room—stocked with cold drinks and snacks, including Jan's homemade cookies—and the front porches on both levels overlooking the garden.
