Area Attractions and Activities:
As the State Capital of Maryland, Annapolis abounds with daily activity. The homes of 3 signers of the Declaration of Independence are located in Annapolis and are open to the public.
Our location (just off the Severn River and the Chesapeake Bay) draws power and sailboats galore. Annapolis is the sailing capital of the United States, so you must go sailing while in Annapolis. The easiest way is to take a 2 hour cruise aboard the Schooner Woodwind. You can raise the sails, take the helm, watch for crab pots, see the sunset and experience Annapolis from the water. Beer, wine and soft drinks are available. Feel free to bring your lunch. And bring a camera, a good hat and soft-soled shoes.
Another great attraction is the 2nd largest Boat Show in the USA. It occurs every October just about 50 steps from Gibson's front door. Historic homes and colonial-garbed tour guides should be on your list....we have ghost tours and pub crawls!!
Most Popular Rooms:
The Patterson House Master Bedroom Suite (c.1770): Romantically inviting with antique queen size bed, sitting area, and private bath with claw foot tub/shower (wrapped in lace) & pedestal sink. Modern amenities include television & telephone.
The Lauer House King Bed Two-Room Suite has a marble floored private bath, antique chandeliers & high ceilings. The sitting room has a sofabed, wing chair, writing desk, & TV. Antiques mixed with today's comforts make for pleasing & memorable experience/
