Woodstock, Virginia bed and breakfast: Inn at Narrow Passage

This historic colonial inn, two miles south of Woodstock on Rt 11 (the Great Wagon Road), was the site of Indian attacks in the 1750s and Stonewall Jackson's headquarters in 1862. With its oldest section dating from around 1740, the Inn has been welcoming travelers for over 250 years.

On five acres overlooking the Shenandoah River, the inn is a perfect place to explore the beauty and history of the Shenandoah Valley or just to relax on the lawn and let the world drift by, and offers something for everyone.

After a busy day hiking or sightseeing, return for lemonade on the porch in the summer, or hot, spiced tea by the fire in the winter. In the evening, walk down to the river to see the ducks, or try your hand at fishing. In the morning, our hearty fireside breakfast will get your day off to a great start.

Recently voted "Best Fishing Lodge in Virginia," with guides and fishing schools nearby. Fine restaurants for lunch and dinner within a few miles. One and a half hours from Washington, D.C., Charlottesville, and Lexington, VA.

Twelve rooms with queen beds, private baths, fireplaces, and full breakfast by the fire in our panelled dining room. The oldest guest rooms feature pine floors, stenciling, and the atmosphere of colonial times. Rooms in later additions are decorated in the same style, but open on to porches, with views of the Shenandoah River and the Massanutten Mountains to the east. The Inn is fully air-conditioned.
