The Columbine Bed & Breakfast was originally the estate of one of the "mahogany kings" of Louisville. Built in 1896, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast has preserved details that truly reflect the Victorian era in which it was constructed.

Perfect for the business traveler or those seeking a romantic getaway, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast is an elegant Victorian mansion with all of the modern amenities.

Whether relaxing on either of our porches, enjoying the view of our large English garden during the warmer months, or snuggling up with a good book in front of one of our eight working fireplaces on cold winter evenings, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast is the bed & breakfast for all seasons.

Along with central heat and air, all 6 guest rooms are tastefully decorated with antiques and reproductions in different shades and hues, but all contain a queen bed, cable TV/VCR, private phone line, private bath, a secretary, and overhead ceiling fans. Unwind with in-room fireplaces, four-poster canopy beds, 12.5 ft. ceilings, and magnificent original hardwood floors.

Breakfasts are something to behold... Served in our elegant dining room featuring two Honduran mahogany and tiger oak pocket doors and Carrera marble fireplace. Each day brings new gourmet delights.

Located in historic Old Louisville, the Columbine Bed & Breakfast is close to most major attractions and activities and is only minutes from the Commonwealth Convention Center, J.B. Speed Art Museum, the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, Churchill Downs (within walking distance), downtown Louisville, shopping and fine dining. We are only 2 blocks from the University of Louisville campus and very close to Sullivan University.

La Romantica: With its lovely bronze canopied bed with tieback netting, a fireplace and delicate decorations, La Romantica provides a refreshing escape. Standard tub/shower bath and pedestal sink located in room.

Garden Room: Overlooking the perennial English garden, the room (with fireplace) provides a wonderful view of the garden while pampering the senses with a dreamy, snug four-poster rice bed. Private bath with ball and clawfoot tub/shower bath.
