![]() In a quiet and secluded setting, Lazy Bear Lodge B&B is located on a paved road, 1½ miles from Mast General Store. The mountain lodge is a 2-story, log house with large comfortable porches, sweeping views and plenty of privacy. The relaxing front porch overlooks a private garden area and is just a few feet from convenient parking. From the 2½ story living room, a wide deck loaded with Adirondack furniture overlooks beautiful mountains and valleys. Five private guest rooms are offered, each with a private bath and a fantastic view. Each bedroom is unique: roomy and furnished with handpicked antiques or handmade furniture, comfortable seating, and gas-fired fireplaces or stoves. The restaurant is sometimes available for Saturday night dining for overnight guests. Advance reservations are required. A full breakfast selection is served any time between 8:30 – 10:00, and choose to sit by a warming fire or enjoy the fresh mountain air on our deck, which overlooks Valle Crucis. Enjoy the numerous nearby attractions and activities, such as Tweetsie Railroad, the Appalachian State University, Grandfather Mountain, the Pisgah National Forest, Bristol Motor Speedway, Linville Fall and Cavern. In the winter enjoy skiing at Sugar, Beach or Appalachian. Area Attractions and Activities: Stroll along seven mountaintop acres to find secluded sitting areas, unique art and statuary and special gardens. Just minutes from great shopping in Boone or Blowing Rock, we are central to ski basins, Grandfather Mountain, golfing, fishing, horseback riding or restaurants. Regional events such as Merlfest, Wooly Worm Festival, and Highland Games are just minutes away. And, we provide a lodging alternative if you are attending the Bristol Raceway. If you wish to schedule an activity please let us knows of your need and timing and we will be happy to make reservations in your name. Blue Ridge Parkway - Wildlife is a delight to see along the Parkway. When the sun is high, woodchucks sit erect and chipmunks and squirrels chitter and chat. At night, skunks, bobcats, foxes, opossums, and raccoons may be seen along the roadsides. Whitetail deer and black bears are present, but seldom seen. Look for them in early morning or evening.
