The Pack House Inn offers spacious guest rooms and features a huge parlor with two coal burning fireplaces, rustic pine plank flooring, Cypress flooring in the bedrooms, a balcony, and a wonderful porch supported with Tuscan Columns.

Room rate includes a full breakfast, 24 hour access to guest kitchen and a variety of snacks and beverages. A complimentary glass of wine and cheese is offered between 5pm - 7pm.

A variety of fine antique decor is featured throughout the inn, including works of art by several local artists such as Jane Perry and Sally Porter. In fact, this Edenton inn is full of interesting things, from paintings, objects of art, to an authentic Cherokee Indian blanket. All of the beds and armoires are hand crafted by Master Craftsman Benjamin Hobbs of Hertford, NC.

Edenton's The Pack House Inn, built in 1915, was originally a Tobacco Packing House at the 1785 Strawberry Hill Plantation. In 1987 it was cut in half and moved to Edenton, N.C. to its present location. Restored and converted into an eight bedroom inn by Arch and Jane Edwards, founders of the well known Lord Proprietor's Inn. This two-story Edenton B&B is one of North Carolina's best examples of Tobacco Packing House architecture - one of a few still in existence. The Pack House Inn is on the NC Historic Register.

Walking tour of Historic Edenton. Golf available at two nearby waterfront courses. Day trip to Outer Banks. Swimming at the owners' private estate, Mount Auburn (c.1800) in season. Great shops and art galleries within walking distance of the Inn.

Boat tours on Edenton Bay and the Albemarle Sound can be arranged. Canoeing on the Albemarle Sound or Merchants Mill Pond. Somerset Plantation and Hope Plantation nearby.

Most Popular Rooms:

Both of our Suites are tied for "Favorite Room" category. Wood burning fireplaces, king size beds, large sitting rooms, whirlpool tubs, roomy marble showers, a wet bar, and embroidered robes all make these rooms our guests' favorite.

Room # 21: Another favorite. Located in the Pack House, it is beautifully decorated in blue and white with a king size canopy bed. The room has a large sitting area and bathroom.
