Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1911, the historic Sather House Bed and Breakfast was occupied by the Sather family for 75 years, and is listed on the county and national historical registers. Period furnishings define the four spacious guest rooms with private baths. Large sunny windows draped in lace throughout the house bring the outside in. On cold winter evenings you may want to settle in by the cozy fireside with a good book, or enjoy the comfortable den watching television or playing board games.

Wicker furniture graces the veranda and on warm balmy days or nights you will want to sit and enjoy a cool drink, whatever your choice; you will bask in the ambience of this fine old Bed and Breakfast home. One of the guests' favorites is the Afternoon tea served at the fireside on cold winter days between 4:00 and 5:00 PM to warm you after a brisk day of outdoor activity. There is a feeling of coming home. We have a sense of coziness along with the detailed elegance of a Bed & Breakfast.

Gourmet breakfast fare is served in the formal dining room at 9:00 AM on weekends only. A Continental breakfast is available Monday through Friday mornings at your convenience. On weekends some of the delectable dishes to start your day consist of apple pancakes served with homemade raspberry maple syrup. Along with stratas, baked eggs and decadent French toast. Continental consists of yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruits, bagels, muffins and/or sweet breads.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Downtown Bend, OR is within walking distance and hosts a variety of unique shops and fine restaurants. The Deschutes River, Drake Park and Mirror Pond are three short blocks away. Famous Mt. Bachelor is just minutes away and provides all winter sports from skiing to dogsled rides. Summer activities such as golfing, rafting, canoeing, and biking are only a short drive away. You'll want to golf in our golfer's paradise at one of 24 golf courses including Eagle Crest Resort Golf Course. For the more adventurous, raft the rapids or take a canoe out on the Deschutes River. Anglers will love either lake fishing or fly fishing in Central Oregon's many lakes and rivers.

English Room: Experience elegance in this period furnished room with your choice of a King bed or twins. Enjoy a private bath with tub, shower and TV. This bath is outside the room and terry robes are furnished for your convenience.
