Hacienda del Desierto offers a taste of old Mexico in the foothills of the Rincon Mountains next to Saguaro National Park, yet only 25 minutes from historic Tucson and the University. Located on 16 secluded acres, the hacienda inn is built around an interior courtyard surrounded by lush desert vegetation.

Walk our private nature trail, with guide booklet, to better appreciate our enchanting desert. Lounge with a drink in lounge chairs under a mesquite tree at the trail head. Sit by desert ponds frequented by wild Javalina, by fountains at which birds bathe, or by our patio or courtyard gardens.

Savor a leisurely continental plus breakfast in the Mexican courtyard with fountain and flowers, on the patio with mountain views, or in the Great Room. Stargaze from one of our two hydrotherapy spas. Fix a feast in an accommodation that offers cooking facilities. Read a good book or enjoy the mountain views from one of our shady porches or patios.

The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is more of a zoo and botanical garden than a museum but world renowned. The most visited site in Tucson, enjoyed by all ages. Allow 4-5 hours to enjoy. It houses animals and plants of the Sonoran Desert.

Tucson Botanical Gardens is a beautiful oasis in the heart of Tucson was originally the home of Bernice and Rutger Porter. Dating to the 1920s, the earliest buildings on the property were constructed of adobe bricks made right on site. True to the vision of Mrs. Porter, Tucson Botanical Gardens is a place of beauty, inspiration and education about the natural world.
