Bed and Breakfast Description

For over fifty years, The White House has been a favorite hostelry for Nantucket's guests. The first floor is home to one of the island's finest whaling antique shops where a resident scrimshander can be found carving actual whale bone as practiced in a by-gone era.

The guest rooms are of good size, bright, airy and exceptionally romantic with luxurious oriental carpets and queen canopy beds. Each room is decorated with Ralph Lauren bedding and fluffy Ralph Lauren Towels and beautiful oil paintings by Nantucket artists. Picturesque Nantucket town views are offered from each of the rooms. Of course, each room offers an en suite private bath with shower.

A little jewel of a courtyard is provided behind the guest house for the exclusive use of The White House guests. Tables, chairs, and a professionally maintained flower garden offer the perfect place for early morning coffee or that late afternoon respite.

Our most popular room is our spacious suite, featuring a bedroom with a romantic queen canopy bed, a living room with a both a full and a twin sleeper loveseat, and a complete kitchen with a breakfast nook, decorated with oriental rugs and Nantucket art.

Another very popular room is room 1- a bright and sunny room with a bay window, a queen canopy bed, library steps and two large upholstered chairs, a luxurious oriental rug and oil paintings by a Nantucket artist.
