 Rainbow Plantation Bed and Breakfast is situated on 7 acres located 1200' above Kealakekua Bay. This working coffee and macadamia nut plantation is a secluded, natural tropical paradise on the sunny side of the Big Island of Hawaii. Kealakekua Bay is a marine sanctuary and snorkeler's delight, where you can swim with dolphins and sea turtles. Hike or ride on horseback down a peaceful trail to the Captain Cook Monument. Ocean kayaks and snorkeling gear are available on premises. Rainbow Plantation is surrounded by nature, native birds and wildlife, tropical plants and flowers. This small paradise is a retreat for eco-travelers, birdwatchers, animal and nature lovers. Our faithful Labrador, adorable miniature horses, pot-belly pigs, playful parrots, tame peacocks, happy, plump chickens and colorful koi fish, plus many varieties of wild birds share this special sanctuary. A quiet temple for meditation and yoga is sitting in our forest where you find your peace. The temple, 12ft x 12ft, is just large enough for a private wedding ceremony for any denomination or gender. An open gazebo kitchen with large Hawaiian lava BBQ, double burner, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc., is also available to all our guests. Enjoy free macadamia nuts - all you can eat! All accommodations are private and comfortable. A wonderful, tropical breakfast is served on our ocean view lanai. We also speak German and French. Area Attractions and Activities: Kealakekua Bay, Captain Cook Monument, swim with the dolphins, kayaking, snorkeling, horseback riding. The Place of Refuge, a historical secret Hawaiian site and beautiful beach in Honaunau; Two Steps, great snorkeling beach (about 5 miles south). Ho'okena sand and lava beach about 7 miles. Black Sand Beach Park, 25 miles; Volcano Park, 70 miles. Kailua-Kona 10 miles, Hilo 110 Miles. Airport 17 miles. Near many wonderful restaurants. Grocery stores within 1 mile. Very private surroundings with hammock. Crow's Nest: A 2 story unit with lanai, private bath (tub and shower), private entrance. The large living room has ocean views, TV, refrigerator, a bed couch and futon couch for extra people. The bedroom on the top floor with ocean view and a queen bed. |
