 Located on the Jemez River in the village of Jemez Springs, New Mexico; a short drive from the 95,000-acre wildlife refuge called the Valles Caldera National Preserve. A scenic one hour's drive from Albuquerque and an hour and a half from Santa Fe. Convenient, yet in another world, this is an ideal get-away for New Mexicans and a peaceful destination for travelers looking for an authentic New Mexico experience. Guests are pampered with lovely, private accommodations and delicious, homemade breakfasts. The menu varies, but is always a generous, warm breakfast of waffles, pancakes, an egg dish or a new creation, with fruit and coffee or tea prepared from scratch especially for you! We are happy to honor dietary requests with advance notice. The Dragonfly Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, a two-person tub and a large, redwood deck overlooking the Jemez River. Built in 1998, the Desert Willow B&B and the Dragonfly Cottage are fresh and new. The Desert Willow B&B features two private, guest suites on the second floor overlooking the river and the mountains. Each has a comfy, Queen-sized, four-poster bed, well-lit reading chairs and a full private bath with tub. The Desert Willow B&B is designed as a comfortable and quiet, smoke-free, adult retreat. Area Attractions and Activities: Hiking, biking, birdwatching, fishing, hot springs, Valles Caldera, Native American pueblos and ruins, Jemez Springs Bath House/Spa, x-country skiing, Bandelier National Monument, National Scenic Highway, Jemez Mountain Trail. Services: Sitting room, library, satellite TV, 2 bedroom cottage with fireplace, private baths, vanities Most Popular Rooms: The River Room: Overlooks the Jemez River & a 1500' cliff. Open the windows & fall asleep to the gurgle of the river. A cherry, cannonball queen sized bed piled with pillows is a comfy place to snuggle. Custom faux painting sets off the contemporary art. The Garden Room: Overlooks the front gardens and is the first to catch the morning sun. An undraped, canopy bed provides a cozy place to retire. Custom stencil painting in the private bath enhances the cheery atmosphere. |
