Bed and Breakfast Description

A stately Second Empire 1881 mansion in downtown Jeffersonville, just two blocks from restaurants and shopping and one block from the Ohio River! Market Street Inn, over 10,000 sq ft, has seven beautiful guest rooms, including three large suites! Eight fireplaces, Innkeeper's apartment, antique & gift shop, commercial kitchen, large 3rd floor deck & front porch.

Guest rooms and suites have double Jacuzzis, separate showers, bidets, his & hers sinks, wet bars, king-size pillow top mattresses. All rooms have remote control fireplaces, TV/VCR/DVD, clock radios, wireless Internet, cable TV and private in-room phones.

Two dining rooms can accommodate up to 32 people, food prepared by professional chef! Large third floor deck with fountain and outside fireplace! Off street parking for 20 cars.

History:
Built in 1881 by George & Barbara Pfau. 1906 became the 'Old Ladies Home' for Civil War Widows. 1985-1996 Haven House Homeless Shelter. 1996 Two devastating fires closed the Haven House. 1996-2002 House sat empty and in disrepair for 6 years. April 2002: House went up for auction and purchased by the Sten Bros. October 2005: Market Street Inn houses its first guests as a Bed & Breakfast.
