Bed and Breakfast Description

Glenmont, Ohio bed and breakfast: Annie's Place at Nature's Retreat

If you enjoy wildlife viewing and hiking this is the place for you. There is an abundance of wildlife throughout Nature's Retreat. We offer over 4 miles of hiking trails through our 150 acre retreat. Take a step back in time and visit our hand made log cabin furnished with our hand made log furniture. The trails are also great for horseback riding. If you travel with horses you may stable them in the old bank-barn located at Annie's. If you wish to rent horses and a tour guide that is available for an additional fee.

Area Attractions and Activities:

The abundance of birds makes birdwatching a favorite activity. Deer and turkeys are seen quite frequently while walking/observing along the trails. Annie's Place and Ancestor Acres are adjacent farms that have been combined to form the 150 acre Nature's Retreat. Catch and release fish in our pond.

Sit in the backyard and relax to the sound of the splashing waterfall that streams down a narrow path and drops into a goldfish pond. At the end of the day, enjoy a campfire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows in Annie's backyard firepit.

Take a step back in time and visit our log cabin built by the family. Horses drug the logs to location and pulleys hoisted the logs into place. The cabin is furnished with log furniture made by the Hunter's. You can sit on the deck and take in a breathtaking 3D view of the mature forrest that surrounds the cabin.

Services:

Hot tub, satellite dish, fireplace, trails, hay rides, horse rental available, catch & release pond.

Most Popular Rooms:

Our favorite room is the Rose Room. It's decorated in off white and pink Victorian. It has two windows, one overlooks the back yard waterfall and the other looks over a pine tree grove. Deer and other wildlife are often seen passing through here.

Our second favorite room is the spacious kitchen. It has a country theme and is fully furnished with all major appliances. We have restored the original wood floor and have added Amish crafted hickory table and chairs.
