Bed and Breakfast Description

The Inn at Solvang is situated four miles north of Huntingdon on Route 26. Surrounded by forests and spacious lawns, the three story, brick, southern colonial home provides a traquil retreat, or a gracious alternative to motel or hotel accommodations. Privacy is yours as well as the convenience of an innkeeper just steps away.

With easy access to Lake Raystown, Juniata College and Penn State University, The Inn at Solvang offers fishing on the premises and a near by 18 hole golf course. We are just a few hours from Washington, DC, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.

The Inn at Solvang was originally designed and built by Huntingdon attorney, C. Jewett Henry and his wife Phyllis. The Inn is filled with furnishings and collectibles reminiscent of their lives, a grand piano and harpsichord in the music room, an abundance of classic books shelved throughout the home, original paintings, authentic Persian rugs and elegant period furniture.

Today the Inn remains in the Henry family. It has been completely renovated to accommodate Inn guests and bring the rooms new life, using vibrant colors, murals, trompe l'oeil and stenciling. Throughout our home, you will find authentic Persian rugs and elegant period furniture.

The East Broad Top steam engine railroad offers entertainment for kids of any age. Go skiing or explore local caverns and museums. Your Innkeepers will be more than happy to assist you in planning your visit to Huntingdon.

Heart and Hand Room: This room is spacious and elegant with a king size bed. There are views on three sides overlooking lawns and forest, and a large bath en suite.

Garden Room: This secluded room is ideal for a romantic get-a-way. It offers a King size bed and a private bath. The bath features a whirlpool tub and a jet shower.
