Bed and Breakfast Description

The mansion was built by the President of The Cumberland Valley Railroad. Relax on the wraparound porch with railroad arches befitting a railroad magnate, and you. Revel in the beautiful view and refreshing breeze. There is something so relaxing about sitting on the porch and sipping tea or wine in the afternoon. You can play cards, read, visit with other guests. Walk the grounds, fish in the stocked trout stream, take a nature walk through the forest or explore the country roads and take in the fresh, clean air.

Help yourself to refreshments in the butler's pantry anytime and by all means make yourself at home! Everything is set up so you don't have to find the Innkeeper to have a drink or snack. Take your goodies to the veranda, library/game room or your room. Tour the Inn and check out the other rooms. You will see the room you want to stay in on your next visit.

We offer Murder Mystery weekends to our guests. Your weekend begins Friday evening and concludes Sunday after brunch. Check-in time starts at 4:00 p.m. Be checked in, dressed to kill and gathered in the drawing room to begin the mystery by 8:00 p.m. We do the mystery in the evenings so your days are free to sight-see, etc.

A full breakfast is served to guests and a Candlelight Brunch is offered during the winter months at 10:00 in the morning. There are many fine restaurants in the area and we offer catered dinners for groups or retreats. Monthly rates are offered for rooms with kitchenetts.

The Totem Pole offers summer stock in the mountains and the Capital Theatre offers music and plays all year. The Inn is a destination where you can relax and enjoy the ambenience; curl up and read or catch up on DVD's. Join a murder mystery weekend and be a character for the weekend, have a party or family retreat. The possibilities are endless. You can sky dive, ski, and ice skate. This location is great for settling in for a few days and taking day tours to Hershey Park, Amish country, other battlefields, Washington D.C. monuments, museums & Baltimore's interharbor.

The Kennedy Suite: Our elegant honeymoon suite has a stately presence with white lace, flowers and brass. It has a bright sunny view, king bed, & whirlpool bath with marbleized walls. Enjoy the fire in wing back chairs and the soft light of the Xmas tree.

The Sunset Suite: This spacious suite offers a panoramic view and beautiful sunsets. It has a king adjustable bed with massage, TV/DVD, and tiled bath with claw foot soaking tub and shower. Adjoining room has two full beds with down and a TV.
