Welcome to The Burbank Rose Bed & Breakfast, conveniently located within walking distance to all of Newport. As visitors will discover, diversity is this city's hallmark. As America's First Resort, Newport takes pride in ensuring that everyone finds something that appeals to them.

Newport County is alive with the air of history. The City of Newport is not only one of America's oldest cities; our community also has the distinction of having more original colonial period buildings than any other early American city. Throughout our quaint, colonial streets, one can see, visit and personally experience our early American charm with buildings dating back to as early as 1675.

Tours abound in Newport. Consider a sunset harbor cruise, a winery tour, a bike trek along breathtaking Ocean Drive, or a hike along the renowned Cliff Walk. Walking tours range from educational jaunts highlighting history and architecture to the discovery of secret gardens and hidden colonial graveyards. Families with young travelers will especially enjoy the exhibits at the many museums of art, history, science, and naval heritage.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Newport is home to hundreds of attractions and events held each year. The range in offerings is incredible, from the famed mansions of Bellevue Avenue to Saint Mary's Church where John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Onassis were married. Crowds range in size from a hundred to tens of thousands. No matter what time of year it is, there is always some sort of event or attraction to visit in Newport on any given day.

In addition to the restaurants and bars offering nightly entertainment, Newport is home to a variety of music festivals. Each year Fort Adams State Park provides the dramatic backdrop for both the Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals. In late July, the Fort comes alive with folk music for two days. Bring your blanket and cooler and relax to folk music all day on the lawn, just steps away from bustling Newport harbor. Many sit at their boat moorings for the day and listen to folk greats like the Indigo Girls from the cool comfort of the harbor.
