Cinnamon Mornings and Chocolate Dreams
Whether you're hosting a formal get-together or need a quick brunch idea, this book will spark your imagination and your appetite.
Colonial Pines Inn B&B
Highlands, North Carolina.
Perched on a 2-acre hillside in-town with a soothing mountain view from a breezy wrap-around veranda. Moderately priced rooms, spacious suites, private cottages. Sumptuous breakfasts, afternoon refreshments, & berry gardens.
Bed and Breakfast Description

Nestled on a lush two-acre secluded hillside half a mile from Main Street, the Inn has been welcoming guests since 1961 to the mellow warmth of knotty pine and English antiques.
Here, a view of Satulah Mountain will soothe your spirit and comfortable B&B rooms with private baths can still be found for around $100. If you prefer, choose the luxury of spacious suites, or enjoy the utmost in privacy with your own fireplace and kitchen at Miss Rebecca's Cottage.
Chris & Donna Alley, innkeepers for 18 years, maintain a casual, family-oriented style, which will make you feel right at home. Every day starts with a very full breakfast of bacon or sausage, egg dishes, hearty breads and fresh fruit served to the sounds of quiet classical or mountain music. Mornings are a good time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the many birds on the property, make new friends, and plan your day's adventures.
Return after your outing to take in the renewing view from an ample rocker, with a glass of peach iced tea and maple cream cookies and other afternoon goodies. Enjoy a stroll through the berry garden where you can sample raspberries, grapes, blueberries, and black currants. A jar of raspberry-jalapeno preserves grown and made at the Inn is a great gift.
Giant rhododendron produce a floral show in summer and brilliant maples dazzle in the fall, but the quiet evergreen beauty of winter and unfolding of early spring bring special discounts that keep the Inn busy year-round.

| "Chris & Donna, We are so grateful for the hospitality and generosity that you have shown us this weekend. We feel that you both have gone above and beyond the call of duty. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we look forward to another visit in the future. Thanks again and God Bless." - Jody & Juliet "Chris & Donna - What a wonderful welcome gift - I had told my mom how much I enjoyed the oatmeal soap in your bathroom! The breakfast you packed for us was fantastic & packaged perfect for travel. The two of you could not have been more hospitable during our stay - we truly enjoyed our visit. Thank you for everything. (I would love to have your recipe for the cheese muffins & the bread in our goody bag if possible.)" - Note from Joan who was buying a house near the Inn |
