Friendly Oaks
Victoria, Texas.
Friendly Oaks B&B is nestled among several huge live oak trees in a quiet preserved historic area. Close to banks, courts, restaurants, antique shops and the new Performing Arts Center. Scrumptious full breakfasts feature Texas produce.
Bed and Breakfast Description

The Friendly Oaks Bed and Breakfast, built in 1915, is located in the historic "Street of Ten Friends" district of Victoria, founded in 1824. The name "Texas" is derived from the native Indian word for "friendly". Your hosts, Bill and CeeBee, make the ambience of history come alive in the shelter of ancient live oaks.
Deep sea fishing in the Gulf is 30 miles away. Golfing, biking, boating, nature hiking, and frequent local festivals are great attractions in the Victoria area. We're situated in an expansive historic preservation area with more than 200 homes and businesses listed.
Though Victoria is a bustling, growing community, it turns quiet when the sun goes down. However, it has its share of cultural activities with a symphony, community theater and ballet.
Area Attractions and Activities:
Victoria, Texas, known as the South Texas Crossroads is one of the oldest cities in Texas. Highway 77, 87 and 59 (the future I69) all intersect in Victoria. With a population of just over 60,000 Victoria is a cultural, historic and economic hub for the area.
Victoria's Museum of the Coastal Bend showcases the rich multi-cultural heritage of the mid-coastal region of Texas. The Museum’s mission is to enhance the appreciation and enjoyment of the region's heritage. The Museum's purpose is to collect, preserve, exhibit, interpret, and educate using the history and heritage of the region.
For many years The Victoria College worked with board advisors and volunteers from Victoria and nearby communities to develop the Museum of the Coastal Bend. The Victoria College is an established higher educational institution that has served the Coastal Bend community since 1925.
