A lovely 1800s Victorian dollhouse on the ocean, quaint, cozy & comfortable, with stunning views of a fishing cove & sunsets. Peacefully located between downtown Gloucester & Rockport, close to Salem & Boston. Two night minimum, please.

Gloucester, Massachusetts bed and breakfast: Lanes Cove House

Each of the three guestrooms is tastefully furnished and decorated, with polished hardwood floors and Oriental rugs, and each has a private bathroom. The beautiful, traditional Green Room has a very nice en suite bathroom with shower. The Quilt Room has a summer cottage feel with a water view and a private hall bathroom with a tub/shower. The romantic Blue Room has an en suite shower bathroom and a water view.

Each guestroom is equipped with an air conditioner, ceiling fan, cable TV/VCR, a clock-radio alarm, robes, hairdryer, premium linens on triple sheeted beds, and many fine face and body amenities.

There is also a common area guest sitting room/kitchenette with wireless internet service a computer and printer, wireless broadband, a cordless telephone, iron and ironing board, puzzles, games, videos and books.

Enjoy pre-breakfast coffee, followed by a delicious and generous continental breakfast served in the dining room or on the deck overlooking the ocean. Breakfast consists of a variety of juices, fresh fruit, cereals including home made granola, toasting bread and muffins, freshly baked scones, yogurts, and premium coffees and teas.

For the comfort of our other guests, we regret that we can not accommodate smokers or pets.

In addition to our three guestrooms, consider our newly converted Carriage House, a wonderful place for a family vacation. It is available on a weekly basis and offers 2 bedrooms and 3 baths, a gas fireplace, a Jacuzzi, large LCD TVs

Area Attractions and Activities:

Walk ten minutes to our small village beach or drive to beautiful, wide nearby beaches. Just remember to return in time to watch the spectacular sunsets from the deck before going out to dinner at one of the fine local restaurants.

Sail on a whale watch boat, or try kayaking, or fishing, or shopping for antiques. Stroll through Rocky Neck, the oldest art colony in the country, or through the quaint shops in lovely Rockport. Spend some time in the amazing Cape Ann Historical Museum, or visit Halibut Point State Park - a beautiful space for an easy walk and birding.

Enjoy the concerts, live drama, summer theater, modern dance and festivals. See the working waterfront, and boats being built and schooners repaired. So much to do! While you're here, enjoy some wonderful, freshly caught seafood.

Most Popular Rooms:

The romantic Blue Room is furnished in white wicker and antiques, blue and white fabrics, and has an Oriental rug on the polished hardwood floor. It has a lovely view of the ocean seen from the bed and the desk.

The Quilt Room: Also has a wonderful view of the ocean. It has a nostalgic gabled ceiling and white beadboard built-ins. The covers on the twin and queen beds are lovely patchwork quilts, and on the polished hardwood floor is another Oriental rug.
