This Asheville/Black Mountain area B&B and orchard on 7 acres is literally surrounded by North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest, centrally located between the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, Mount Mitchell, and Chimney Rock/Lake Lure.

Bed and Breakfast Description

The Inn on Mill Creek welcomes guests in one of two buildings: the Main House and the Lake House.

There are four large guest rooms spread across three floors in the Main House. For those who enjoy the particular pampering offered by a four poster king size bed, consider the Lake View room on the top floor. One wall of floor-to-ceiling windows offers a view of the lake and the woods. Additional amenities include a gas fireplace, large bathroom, dressing area and private screened porch.

The North Terrace room, a queen bed room on the ground floor of the Main House, has an entrance through a set of French doors leading to a private parking area and patio with Adirondack rockers, perfect for stargazing on a clear night. A gas fireplace and large separate room with step-up hot tub offer opportunities for relaxation in this popular room.

All three rooms in the Lake House have 14-foot ceilings, queen beds, private baths, Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, and sliding glass doors leading to a lakeside deck.

Popular with both couples and small families, two of the Lake House rooms include a sleeping loft with an extra double bed. And for those having too much fun to drive into town for lunch or dinner, a fully appointed guest kitchen is also available in the Lake House.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Western North Carolina offers a variety of activities for visitors to the area. From sight-seeing at the Biltmore Estate to climbing Chimney Rock to driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, you'll find plenty to do near the Inn on Mill Creek. The Inn is also close to shopping and dining in Black Mountain (10-15 minutes) and Asheville (20-30 minutes).

If you want to relax at the Inn, which is located inside Pisgah National Forest, you'll find several places to refresh your spirit: take a stroll in the orchard, grab a book to read in the two-story Great Room, lounge on one of the decks overlooking the lake, waterfall and dam that powers Andrews Geyser in nearby Old Fort. Or take a hike... two trails are accessible from the Inn.

Most Popular Rooms:

The Lake View room, (600 sq. feet), has full-length windows gracing the entire south wall for expansive outdoor views of the forest and the peaceful lake and waterfall created by a dam in the late 1800s. King bed, fireplace, private porch, huge bathroom.

The Maple Tree room in the Lake House has a queen bed, 2-person Jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, satellite TV and a sliding door leading onto a shared deck overlooking the lake. Additionally, guests have access to a full guest kitchen in the Lake House.
