Bed and Breakfast Description

We believe that you can have your cake and eat it too. In fact, you can have your apple crumb cake in bed along with a full country-style breakfast. Start your day with freshly brewed hot coffee, an assortment of gourmet teas and homemade baked goods. Add to that some seasonal fresh fruit, orange juice and your choice of eggs, any style. If you prefer something sweet, enjoy our blueberry pancakes or apple Danish French toast, all served with bacon or sausage.

Breakfast may also be served in our glass Victorian Conservatory, and, during the warmer months, on our garden terrace amidst the irises and lilies of the valley. A full breakfast is served from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.

Built in 1825, our three-story inn features nine individually decorated rooms with antiques and high-quality reproduction period pieces. If you happen to fall in love with that wicker sleigh bed in your room and you simply must have it, you may. Most of our furnishings are for sale, except for a few treasured sentimental items. Our rooms have private baths, queen-size or king-size beds, and woodburning stoves. Our two suites boast Jacuzzi tubs; a wonderful romantic indulgence or a great way to relax after a day of hiking Breakneck Ridge. We offer accommodations for romantic getaways, business travelers, reunions, and wedding guests.

Located in the heart of the historic village of Cold Spring, Pig Hill is a short walk to the train station for trips to New York City (one hour away). Cold Spring and the surrounding communities offer many excellent restaurants, regional theater, and dozens of craft, gift, and antique shops. Historic sites such as Boscobel, Roosevelt and Vanderbilt mansions and the West Point Military Academy are close by.

Perhaps the most inviting feature of all is the natural splendor of the Hudson Highlands, with its many miles of exciting and beautiful hiking trails.

Most Popular Rooms:

Our most romantic room, the Tranquility, features a king-size canopy bed, a large two-person Jacuzzi (a perfect place to relax after a hike), and a woodburning stove at the foot of the bed. It's outfitted with individual heat and air conditioning system.

The Enchantment Room, quiet and intimate, this room on the third floor has a woodburning stove at the foot of the queen-size sleigh bed of classic beauty. The highlight of the private bathroom is the jacuzzi tub.
