Bed and Breakfast Description

1 very large, comfortably furnished bed/sitting rooms with antiques, Oriental rugs, non-working fireplace and remarkable architectural detail. Room has a queen bed, plus queen sofabed, TV, private bath. Second room available occasionally, especially at peak times or to families, couples, traveling together.
Elevator for luggage.
Breakfast served in elegant room overlooking river at 1870 Normand carved round table with chandeliers from French chateau. Hostess anxious to share her knowledge of 35 plus years of living here. Two friendly white dogs in residence. Full breakfast included, NO 14% hotel tax because this is a private home.

An easy walk to historic sights, Freedom Trail, Boston Common and Public Garden, shops, restaurants, MGH, Convention Center, theaters, sports venues, Arlington and Charles/MGH subway stops. Guests advised not to rent cars as Boston is a walking city! Public parking available nearby, however. One block from Charles St with its many restaurants and cafes, antique shops and boutiques, plus drug store, hardware store, post office, sight-seeing trolley stop, everything one could need. Great place for running along the Charles River.
Most Popular Rooms:
Redone last spring with brand new ensuite bath. It is yellow, has a queen bed, Thai silk drapery, an antique French armoire, queen sofa-bed, loveseat, desk and built-in bookcase. The ceiling is almost 14'!
Available only when booked with first room. 4 poster double bed, double sofa-bed, modern private bath with large tub and separate shower, just down the hall from other guest room, so the two together occupy the entire second floor.
