 This historical Austin bed and breakfast is a magnificent Colonial home that has been lovingly restored. Beautiful antique hardwood floors, antique tile, and many windows exemplify its stately stance. All guestrooms have private bathrooms, dramatic wooden beds, hardwood floors, televisions, and wonderful windows. Fresh flowers decorate the rooms, and cotton linens are ironed to soothe you through the night. After you have explored your room, you may want to sit on the second floor deck with a cup of tea, relax in the gazebo, or watch the Koi swim about in the lily pond. The rooms and the grounds are designed to spoil you, and make you feel special - because you are! A delicious, full breakfast is included in the room rates, and served at individual tables for our guests. The menu changes daily and offers such treats as homemade waffles, scones, and biscuits. Fresh fruit, juice, tea, and freshly ground coffee are served daily. Area Attractions and Activities: Area attractions include the Texas Capital, LBJ Presidential Library, Texas History Museum, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, University of Texas, lakes, and numerous hiking and biking trails. Lance Armstrong lives in Austin, so the biking must be good! Austin is also home to the largest urban bat population in the United States. Visitors gather nightly to watch the bats depart from a downtown bridge. Austin is referred to as the Live Music Capital of the World. There is music for everyone. Birding is enjoyed in many large park areas within Austin and on-site at Carriage House Inn.
