Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1892, The Rochester Hotel is a 15-room hotel decorated in an Old West motif, furnished with period antiques and inspired by the many Western movies filmed in and around Durango, Colorado, continuously operated as a hotel for more than 100 years.

Designated as "The Flagship Hotel of Colorado" by Conde' Nast Traveler in 1996, and noted for its "cowboy funky" decor, the Rochester offers 15 spacious and high-ceilinged rooms that are each decorated in an Old West motif inspired by one of the many movies filmed in and around the Durango area. Movie posters framed in gold and Hollywood lights line the hallways: Support Your Local Gunfighter, City Slickers, Viva Zapata, Around the World in Eighty Days, and Maverick Queen, Butch Cassidy and the Sandance Kid.

The beautifully landscaped setting features a flower-filled courtyard and is located just one block from historic Main Avenue in downtown Durango, the Hotel is within walking distance to major attractions such as the Durango & Silverton Railroad, museums, galleries, shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and various outdoor activities. It is just a short drive to Mesa Verde, Durango Mountain Resort and Trimble Hot Springs & Spa.

The Leland House offers 5 queen suites, 4 king suites, and the 2 bedroom Pittman Suite.

Guests enjoy a complimentary full gourmet breakfast in the Rochester lobby each morning, including a daily hot entrée, homemade baked goods and a selection of fresh fruit.

105 or 205 (Maverick Queen, How the West Was Won): Both are king size rooms. 105 opens to the beautiful courtyard. Return guests request these two the most.

The Pittman Suite: This very spacious Suite offers two separate bedrooms both with queen size beds and private baths, 2 seating areas with a pull out sofa and gas fireplace, complete with private balcony and full kitchen.
