Bed and Breakfast Description

Come enjoy one of our ten suites from the Arts and Crafts Room, Railroad Room, Hot & Tot Room, to the Shasta Wintu Suite. We offer spacious rooms with luxurious amenities you will not find elsewhere. Our rooms are furnished with antiques, unique decor pieces, and accessories that contribute to the historic restoration of this special Northern California hotel.

Many of our rooms include king size beds, feather down comforters, whirlpool or claw foot tubs, and exquisite historical designs. We offer romance and family packages that take in the beauty and the adventure of the area. The rooms offer breathtaking views of Mount Shasta as well as views of the quaint architecture of the surrounding historic buildings.

Many of our interiors have 12' ceilings, historic finishes, windows, and large private bathrooms. Several of them have double vanities and a separate water closet. Our bathroom floors have radiant heat to keep your feet warm during the winter months. All rooms have central heat and air conditioning.

We also offer two suites that are handicap accessible for our disabled guests or seniors. These large rooms have many of the special amenities of the other guestrooms. This includes breathtaking views of Mount Shasta, king size beds, radiant heat, and whirlpool tubs. There is also an elevator and handicap ramp to assist you with your travels and luggage. The Mercantile has been retrofitted for your convenience and access. We are more than happy to oblige.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Family Tree Cutting: Bring your family and take part in one of Americana’s favorite traditions … cutting down your own tree for the holidays. Our package includes Christmas Tree Cutting Permit and map, packed lunch box including hot chocolate and shortcake cookies.

Family Native American Drum Making Class: This five-hour workshop includes all materials to make 2 drums for 2 children or parents. Drums are made from willow and deer or elk hides, each person creates and embellishes their own individual drum. Advanced reservations are recommended, as class size is limited.

Pumpkin Family Day: Ride the Pumpkin Excursion Train and enjoy Pumpkin Pie and hot Apple Cider with cinnamon sticks. Once you pick your pumpkin you can paint and carve your own pumpkin in the Great Room ... we’ll have all the tools you need, and we’ll help clean up the mess!
