The Bay View Terrace Inn is a 37 room Historic Hotel and restaurant located across from Little Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan) in Bay View Association. BayView is open June through August and consists of nearly 500 Victorian gingerbread cottages, a music campus, theatre, and is a village with post office, museum, and
world class performing arts venues. The Inn is on a bluff overlooking the neighborhood and the long veranda is set towards the bay, a perfect summer dining spot. Petoskey's gaslight shopping district is an upscale area for boutique shops, bookstores, and restaurants, and just 1 mile away. Bike trails, hiking in Bay View acres of woods, and cross country or showshoeing in winter are popular activities. Guests can rent kayaks at Bay View's beach, enjoy a chilly swim, or walk the pier to watch the boats and million dollar sunsets. Scenic drives abound with many charming small towns nearby to visit and Mackinac Island just 45 minutes north. the Inn offers full-scale dining in-season Tues through Sat, packages including meals, and off-season weekend dining, and rooms open Tuesday through Sunday. Room rates start at 69.00 weekday for a cozy cottage (vintage-style) room without TV, to 169.00 for a whirlpool suite. Wireless enabled throughout, breakfast is included and rooms have private baths. Art and history are featured throughout with original furnishings and an elegant chandelier-clad dining room for breakfast, and dining. Entrees start at 12.95 and wine and beer.

BayView association is a National Historic Landmark association over nearly 500 Victorian cottages, established in 1875 by the Methodists. Set along Little Traverse Bay and a mile from downtown Petoskey, the sunset views are amazing and the area is known for recreation and cultural activities. Very charming and quaint area it also is just 45 minutes from Mackinac Island, one of the country's top 10 destinations. Inn room rates start at $69 for cozy vintage rooms without tv, to 169 for a whirlpool suite with all the amenities. The Inn's restaurant is extremely popular,especially when the veranda is open with views of the bay overlooking this Victorian community!


Most Popular Rooms:

Our most popular room our Deluxe Rooms with a King or Queen bed, full bath, cable tv, and some have fireplace. the cottage style and cottage plus style are vintage/cozy/charming, and cottage plus have tv while cottage don't.

Our whirlpool suites are very popular for guests that are getting away for a honeymoon, romantic escape, anniversary, birthday or just want to enjoy more amenities and can afford it. (rates are still much less that comparable rooms in this area!).

Please let us know in advance if you will be arriving after our front desk closes. Hours vary seasonally, generally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. off-season Tuesday-Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily June through August. We are happy to arrange your arrival anytime.
