The Rivertown Inn

Built in 1882, this lovingly restored lumber baron mansion features guest quarters that include a private bath with a double whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, and sumptuous decor that pays homage to a great poet or literary figure of the 19th century.

An evening retreat provides the substance of dreams; luxuriate in the intimacy and splendor of your surroundings. We offer five Suites and four Bedchambers, including two exquisite Grand Suites located in our separate carriage house.

Deluxe amenities provided for the comfort of all guests include a private bath with double whirlpool tub, Molton Brown spa-quality bath amenities, live-flame gas fireplace set in period mantel, luxury bathrobes, towels, bed linens, and goose down pillows, Bose Radio sound system and CD player.

A sumptuous three-course breakfast prepared by our chef is served each morning and a nightly social hour with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres too. Complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea, soft drinks and ice are also provided. Champagne and fine wines are available for purchase.

Rivertown Inn is four blocks uphill from historic downtown Stillwater. The birthplace of Minnesota. Stillwater is on the St. Croix River, a national scenic waterway, providing for lovely views. This beautiful city is perfect for a romantic getaway.

Stillwater boasts plenty of shops and a variety of restaurants along Main St. and offers everything from vineyards to apple orchards, gondola rides and paddle boat cruises on the St. Croix, hot air balloon rides, parks perfect for a picnic, and much, much more.

Agatha Christie: Decorated after the Orient Express, this grand suite features a berth-style king size bed, gas fireplace, a steam room with a Kohler water tower massaging shower, a separate whirlpool room with a deep oversized tub, and a private terrace.

Lord Byron Suite: This unique second floor room features a double whirlpool with underwater lights and waterfall as well as a fireplace. It is decorated in lovely jewel tones and has a beautiful canopied bed. A cozy yet elegant suite with a balcony.
