Bed and Breakfast Description

Preserved woodwork, inlaid floors and a chestnut square box staircase will lead you to your private room on the second floor. Private baths, a queen bed and cable TV are just some of the amenities. Nearly the entire house and gardens are yours to explore, experience and enjoy.
Begin each day at Chestnut Hall with hot coffee made fresh in the main parlor for the early risers. A Full Classic American Breakfast will be served in the formal dining room. We will attempt to accommodate your special dietary needs with prior notice.

Area Attractions and Activities:
New Oxford, “The Antique Capital of Central Pa” is the perfect location for shopping and searching for that perfect antique. Gettysburg is only 8 miles west on Rte 30. Touring Gettysburg and the battlefields can be made easy with professional tour guides, self-guided driving, walking or horse riding trails.
A little further to the north is Carlisle and Harrisburg. Carlisle is the home of Dickinson College and School of Law and the Carlisle Army War Barracks. While in town check out the memorials for “Molly Pitcher” and Jim Thorpe. Carlisle Productions offers several auto flea markets, events and featured car shows throughout the spring, summer and fall. Harrisburg, Pa’s state Capital offers a wide range of events and activities. Among them include the Pa State Farm Show and Pa Home and Builders Show, holiday celebrations on the riverfront. Hershey, PA is minutes north of Harrisburg.
Then there is Lancaster County. Even though it is a lifestyle away it's an easy drive east on Rt 30.
Most Popular Rooms:
Experience the ambience of the Cherry Room with its queen poster bed. A large bay window with cushioned window seat looks onto a Red Bud tree that shows off its beautiful red blossoms each spring.
Reserving the Mahogany Suite is a good choice. This large two-room suite located on the east side of the house is the perfect retreat at Chestnut Hall. A beautiful queen sleigh bed centers the quiet bedroom while a trundle bed is also available.
