Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1885, Collingwood Inn is a historic Victorian Bed and Breakfast Inn, in Ferndale, California. Known as "The Hart House," our B&B Inn features five charming guestrooms, secluded cottages and homes, private baths, balconies and beautiful gardens in an enchanted, yet casual atmosphere.

Ideal for on-site wedding ceremonies, anniversaries, honeymoons or weekend getaways. The hosts and innkeepers of this romantic inn, are looking forward to your visit. Pets always welcome.

Breakfast offerings may include our own homemade marmalade, homemade berry yogurt and freshly baked apple-strudel or blackberry bread. Fresh fruit, juices, and coffee - freshly roasted - a fine selection of teas and hot chocolate are always served as well.

In addition to the guest rooms in the Hart House, two separate rentals are available. Jeannette's Cottage is a charming, secluded 2-bedroom/1 bathroom cottage, featuring fully handicapped access, kitchen, wintergarden, private hot tub, TV/VCR, phone, private parking, and dining room. La Toscana is a fully furnished vacation retreat, minutes from the Pacific Ocean on the Northern California Coast, right on our historic Main Street, but facing a quiet back alley. Experience "a touch of Tuscany" in our cozy two-bedroom/2-bathroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, color TV/DVD/VCR, telephone, Internet Access, private deck and secluded fountain atrium, forced air heat plus fireplace. Skylights in the bedrooms.

Visit the historic village of Ferndale, which has been designated a State Historical Landmark. Also on the National Register of Historic Places. Shop quaint stores along Main Street. Go to a live performance at the Repertory Theatre, visit 1 of the best beaches - minutes away from the Inn, visit the Redwoods... only minutes away from Ferndale! Loads of hiking/biking trails & beaches to discover.

The Hart Suite: In honor of Ferndale's prominent family, it is spacious and private. The room has its own entrance, fireplace and porch overlooking lush gardens. The room is trimmed in Valentine red, including authentic period stained glass windows.

The Brazil Room: Boasts an elegant palate of "Victorian Blues" and is filled with the charm and history of times gone by. Queen size, half-canopied featherbed, antique furniture, a large bath, shower and clawfoot tub...soft terrycloth robes included.
