Abode at Willowtail Springs awaits you amid the sun-washed landscapes of Southwest Colorado. Nestled on an enchanting 60 acres of pasture, woods, streams, and extensive gardens, three log cabins face a private bass-filled lake & La Plata Mountains. All 3 have comfortable, charming, & whimsical interiors w/fully equipped kitchens, fireplaces, libraries, TV/VCR, sound systems, and private phones. Canoes & rowboat sit by dock ready to escort guests on lake to fish, dream, birdwatch, or view double rainbows, moonrise, shooting stars. Enjoy the Colorado mountain sunsets when the mist hangs low on the surface of evening water. Lie in peace as the sunrise filters gently through windows & trees.

From decks & windows, fields & forests a great variety of birds can be seen. We are a Division of Wildlife Soft Release Site. Wounded wild birds are brought to us when they are ready to be released. There are binoculars in each cabin and a bird book for Colorado.
Seminars in various subjects are scheduled throughout the year.

Canoes and rowboat for fishing and dreaming. A vast array of sights & activities. Explore Mesa Verde National Park, world famous for its cliff dwellings, The Ute Mountain Tribal Park & Hovenweep with its mysterious round towers, which are among the closest. Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Arches National Park, & The Canyonlands all have breathtaking vistas to experience. San Juan Skyway Loop crosses two passes thru Dolores, Telluride, Ouray, Ridgeway, Silverton, Durango & back to Willowtail Springs. Stop at any of the hot springs on this outing. Guests love to ride the Narrow Gauge Railroad from Durango to Silverton thru spectacular scenery. River rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking, fly-fishing, boating, downhill & cross country skiing within close range, wonderful restaurants locally and nearby.
