Bed and Breakfast Description

Built in 1833 by local banker Elias Brown, a relative of the current owner, this early 19th century Greek Revival Mansion and national landmark is a masterpiece of its period and set on 3 beautifully landscaped acres of gardens and fountains at the beginning of the Mystic River.

We include a full New England country-gourmet candlelight breakfast and feature our signature fresh baked cookies "the stuff dreams are made of" in our parlor. These spectacular parlors feature a Belgian marble fireplace, black marble detailing, a turn of the century crystal chandelier, and potted palms and ferns for your enjoyment. We feature a full size swimming pool (in season) and tennis court.

All of our spacious guest suites offer full private bath, working wood-burning fireplaces, central air conditioning in summer, expanded cable television, AM/FM/CD players, beautiful 19th century furnishings, most with over-sized 2 person Jacuzzi hot tubs, and 2 with private porches. A sense of romance prevails in these distinctive suites.

We are happy to assist you with restaurant suggestions and those hard-to-secure dinner reservations at some of Mystic's celebrity restaurants. Moreover, nothing is more relaxing than an en suite massage or a session at the nearby Spa In The Woods.

The Magnificent Veranda Room: features a 19th century bronze king size bed from Paris, oversized 2 person corner Jacuzzi hot tub in front of working fireplace, private porch, large sunny bathroom with French porcelain sink basin and French wood screen.
