Bed and Breakfast Description

Welcome to our romantic 1883 Victorian inn and garden complex. Twelve rooms in 3 buildings surround a garden with roses, topiaries, fountains, and beautiful old pecan trees. The designer rooms have graced home and garden magazines, as well as numerous publications such as Country Inns, Southern Living, and USA Today

Features include fireplaces, canopied beds, clawfooted tubs, TV's, phones, sitting rooms, and horsedrawn carriage rides. Full gourmet breakfasts are headliner events--Eggs Benedict, Bananas Foster crepes, and raspberry French toast. Crystal River Inn is known for its innovative theme weekends: romance getaways, ladies' shopping adventures, rivertrips, and especially its original murder mysteries. Come along as we dish up some wonderful Hill Country flavor.

The Inn is a collection of several historically significant buildings centered around a rose garden. The beautiful columned Main House was San Marcos' first Victorian structure, built in 1883. The Young Building, built in 1885 as the town's first apartment building, is across the street from the Main House. To celebrate our 23rd year as innkeepers, we've bought a beautiful historic building adjacent to the inn, and in it are four large and glamorous new rooms. Two have Jacuzzis, all have designer furniture and linens. Our existing buildings have been treated to new landscaping and carpeting

Lakes, rivers, scenic drives, and a grand assortment of other tourism highlights including Austin, San Antonio, Wimberley, Fredericksburg, and New Braunfels.

Only 2 1/2 hours from Houston, this bustling little riverside town is located at the headwaters of the crystal-clear San Marcos River, surrounded by scenery that is among the best in the state. San Marcos is home to nature theme parks, world-class shopping at two enormous designer factory outlets, whitewater sports, Texas State University, picturesque historic districts, merry festivals, great antiquing, wineries, theater, and food. And of course, it is home to the Dillon family's Crystal River Inn, one of the oldest and most famous bed and breakfast inns in Texas.

The Colorado: Texas Hill Country flavor. Quiet and private, it features designer ranch decor highlighted with a canopied queen rope bed, antiques, leather hides, and western artwork. TV, phone, private bath with shower/tub combination.
