Brightwood Inn

Constructed in 1996 in Oglesby, Illinois and nestled on 14 acres within the confines of Mattiessen State Park, the inn was built to resemble a vintage farmhouse complete with veranda. The Inn may be reserved for banquets, small weddings and reunions.

Bed and Breakfast Accommodations

All guests get a full complimentary breakfast in the morning that includes coffee and juice, breads, cereal, fresh fruit, and a hot entree.

The Inn will provide you with a peaceful and luxurious stay amid the beauty of nature. Hike the trails of the beautiful Starved Rock State Park or bike along the trails of the historic Illinois and Michigan canal, just two miles away.

Celebrate your honeymoon, anniversary or birthday in our Romantic Country Inn. All rooms feature beautiful accommodations such as, satellite TV and VCR, fireplace and private bath. Most rooms have large two person hot tubs or Jacuzzi suites, and some have private balconies.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Outside the Inn, guests may hike the many scenic trails of Matthiessen, Starved Rock and Buffalo Rock State Parks that are in the area. Guests can rent a horse at the Starved Rock Stables and ride the State Park trails. The Illinois & Michigan Canal offers miles of hiking and biking trails. Many golf courses are located near the Inn and we will be happy to reserve a tee time for you.

Most Popular Rooms:

Aspen Suite: This is our three room suite with 1,000 sq. feet of living area. The bedroom has a queen size sleigh bed, the bathroom has an oversize whirlpool tub. The living area has a fold out couch, balcony, dining table, chairs and a kitchenette.

Sequoia Room: Queen size sleigh bed, combination whirlpool tub and shower, large windows with spectacular view of the park meadows at sunset.
