Bed and Breakfast Description

Carthage, Missouri bed and breakfast: The Leggett House

Completed in 1901, the Leggett House located in historic Carthage, Missouri is a testament to quality craftsmanship.

This beautiful house was constructed entirely of locally quarried Carthage Stone that was cut and fitted on the grounds of the property.

Truly stunning, the woodwork throughout the house is all handcrafted from Cortisone Oak, Birdseye Maple and Pine. Out of the 82 windows, 11 are curved glass. This house is also host to 5 fireplaces and a magnificent fountain that was hand chiseled from Carthage Marble.

Choose your favorite room and make your reservations today. We're sure your stay here will be one of comfort and elegance.

When the twentieth century was ushered in, Carthage was over 10,000 people strong and home to a variety of agricultural, industrial and commercial concerns. Many older stores and banks downtown received new Carthage stone facades and the Carthage "capitalists" continued to build large homes in popular turn-of-the-century styles.
