Bed and Breakfast Description

Near the Glacier National Park entrances at West Glacier and Camas Creek, but far from the crowds, trains & traffic, Smoky Bear Ranch has all of the conveniences of a deluxe four-season facility in a remote forested setting. The ranch features 4 guest suites, 3 cabins and 2 tipis with private baths.

We can help you book white water rafting trips, guided fishing trips, horseback & pack trips, wilderness hiking trips, alpine skiing at The Big Mountain, Nordic skiing in Glacier National Park, and many other activities.

In addition, we have river fishing, mountain biking, hiking, Nordic skiing, ice skating, sledding, and other activities around the property.

You have certainly picked a magnificent, spectacular, and unspoiled area for your vacation. When we moved here nearly 15 years ago, we thought it was such a special place we were inspired to share it. Once you see it, you'll be inspired too!

Fishing
Fish the North Fork for native Cutthroat trout or Whitefish right out your back door. Go get your trophy in our many lakes or streams. Mackinaw abound in the larger lakes.

Mountain Biking
Hundreds of miles of trails and old logging roads that are now closed to motorized traffic can lead you to spectacular and scenic areas.

Floating/Rafting
From the placid kick-back & relaxing North Fork to the raging whitewater of the Middle Fork, float trips in this neck of the woods are always eventful. Watch the wildlife as you float through their domain by canoe, kayak, or raft.

Hiking
Trails galore says it best. Glacier National Park, Flathead National Forest, the Bob Marshal, Great Bear, & Scapegoat Wilderness complexes, all of the way to Canada, you'll be impressed by some of the most exciting hiking in the country. Explore old fire lookouts or view waterfalls and wildlife in their environments.

Apgar Suite: Our premiere accommodation occupies a second floor loft off the main room of the lodge. Featuring an extra large room with two queen beds and a private bathroom with a shower, satellite TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, and large closet.

The Chief Tipi: Large Sioux style canvas Tipi with a liner and door. Can sleep up to 6 persons on 3 futon mattresses. This marvelous Tipi Lodge from the Flathead Indian Reservation is perfect for the small family. You can sleep under the stars!
