Area Attractions and Activities: Whether it’s relaxing with a good book or browsing among the treasures in the shops of Little Switzerland, there’s plenty to do and see here. As each season unfolds its splendor before your eyes, opportunity abounds for recreation in and around the Little Switzerland area. Hike to the top of Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the East, or through the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. Grandfather Mountain is close as well. Golf on courses with breathtaking mountain views. Caprice: Was once the tea room for the original Switzerland Inn. It is a charming, unique and very popular cottage with king size bed, gas fireplace and cathedral ceiling. One wing with full bath, another wing with dressing area and sunken tub. |
