Bed and Breakfast Description

Wake up to freshly brewed coffee and a sumptuous breakfast each morning.

Spend an afternoon sipping refreshments in the rockers on the spacious wraparound porches, in the gazebo or in the gardens. Stroll down Main Street (just one block away) and peek into the interesting shops and galleries. Games, puzzles and plenty of books are available for quiet evenings.

Guests at Herren House can make reservations for Thursday or Saturday four or five course gourmet dinner by candlelight in the dining room. It is not just a meal, it is a dining experience -- two hours or so of good conversation and great food in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Romantic weekend packages available.

Area Attractions and Activities:

Great Smoky Mountains, Biltmore Estate, Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum, hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, Ghost Town Amusement Park, Maggie Valley.

Visitors can also enjoy fishing, horseback riding, tubing or a great round of golf within minutes of Herren House. Or just relax with a good book in the gazebo.

Most Popular Rooms:

MaryLu's Room: A beautiful octagonal room decorated in mauve, rose, & burgundy, with a down comforter covered in an embroidered white duvet from England. Lovely view of the mountains through the 48-pane window.

Jessica's Room: A queen size high four poster bed with down pillows/comforter. Decor is porcelain and navy with touches of Victorian red. It has a large full bath. Catches the morning sun, and boasts a lovely view of the lower garden and the mountains.
